Of The Light....

Reiki Healing is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy. The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy". So Reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy." While Reiki is spiritual in nature, it is not a religion. It has no dogma, and there is nothing you must believe in order to learn and use Reiki. In fact, Reiki is not dependent on belief at all and will work whether you believe in it or not. Because Reiki comes from God, many people find that using Reiki puts them more in touch with the experience of their religion rather than having only an intellectual concept of it..

Energy Healing

Energy Healing is also known as light healing, psychic healing, spiritual healing, or Pranic healing. Even Reiki has its foundation in energy healing. It involves moving within a person’s energy field to interact, remove, exchange or replace energy to heal someone. It usually involves using the energy emanating from the hands and enhancing energy flow to repair disturbances in the human energy field or aura. Improving the flow of energy supports the body’s ability to heal itself.

There is a renewed interest in the ancient practice of energy healing. The ‘laying of hands’ has appeared many times in cultures over the years. It is now being rediscovered, researched and validated into alternative healing practice. The best healing practice would integrate holistically both western medicine and energy healing to address the whole of the body, mind and spirit.

"If the head and the body are to be well, you must begin by curing the soul; that is the first thing... the great error of our day in the treatment of the human body, is that physicians separate the soul from the body."
Plato

Psychic or spiritual healing has gained in popularity but it is still extremely important to remember that legally only a medical doctor can diagnose or treat a patient. And it’s also important to remember that only you can really heal yourself in mind, body and spirit. All human beings have within them the ability to develop the nurturing and healing gift of their personal electromagnetic energy field through learning and using hands-on energy healing. As a complement to medical and psychological treatment, spiritual energy healing can be especially useful for healing emotional traumas held within the body, as the energies of emotional and psychological traumas often manifest into disease. From this perspective, spiritual energy healing also appears to have a transformative effect on consciousness and may significantly reduce the amount of time needed to heal emotional and psychological issues associated with illness.

Pranic Healing

In the last 30 years, the ancient art of “laying on of hands” healing has been gaining recognition as a powerful, effective and nurturing form of healing and energy balancing. The resurgence of this timeless healing art through the work of modern-day pioneering healers and healthcare practitioners such as Dolores Kreiger, The Therapeutic Touch, and Barbara Brennan, Hands of Light, has helped bring needed attention to the numerous beneficial uses of spiritual hands-on energy healing as an effective form of integrative healthcare and self-care. The actual number of people using some form of spiritual energy healing in their everyday lives, either applied hands-on or remotely, such as distant healing or prayer, is much larger than most people may be aware of. The reason for this is probably due to a desire to connect more deeply within and with others. All that is required is some instruction and practice which has become more available and accessible to the public on an ever-expanding global scale.

Pranic Healing® is a highly evolved and tested system of energy medicine developed by Grand Master Choa Kok Sui that utilizesprana to balance, harmonize and transform the body's energy processes. Prana is a Sanskrit word that means life-force. This invisible bio-energy or vital energy keeps the body alive and maintains a state of good health. In acupuncture, the Chinese refer to this subtle energy as Chi. It is also called Ruach or theBreath of Life in Hebrew. Pranic Healing® is a simple yet powerful & effective system of no-touch energy healing. It is based on the fundamental principles that the body is a self-repairing living entity that possesses the ability to heal itself and that the healing process is accelerated by increasing this life force that is readily available from the sun, air and ground to address physical & emotional imbalances. Master Choa Kok Sui says "Life Energy or prana is all around us.

Most energy healers commonly agree that healing happens through the use of the Life Force Energy around all humans. Hippocrates hypothesized that nature was the healing energy or vital force of life. He believed that energy, or nature, actually healed the patient not the doctor. But unfortunately he also believed that the body and mind were separate. Pythagoras actually developed a mystery school whose philosophy believed at its deepest level that reality is mathematical in nature; that philosophy can be used for spiritual purification; that the Soul can rise to union with the Divine; and that certain symbols have a mystical significance. The Pythagoreans believed that body and mind were united and they interpreted dreams as part of the healing process. Even in early Christianity some priests were chosen to be healers. They used both laying of hands and prayer for healing. Eventually though the church turned its back on this type of healing after the conversion of Constantine to Christianity.  In modern times, Edgar Cayce went into trance with the intention of diagnosing and healing patients. In this type of healing the healer establishes an altered state of consciousness to heal. Laying of hands or energy healing uses intentional thought but does not require establishing an altered state to heal or diagnose.
